Supporting Halifax in the Aftermath of the Fire
Written by:
This past weekend, a devastating fire in Halifax has forced over 16,000 people to evacuate their homes. As of today, May 30, 2023 the fire is still out of control, covering 10,000 hectares.
As members of this community, we are all feeling the impact of this tragedy and are eager to find ways to help those affected.
As a proud member of the Halifax community, I am committed to doing everything I can to support those in need. Here are some ways that CLLC and our community can get involved:
1. CLLC Halifax is proud to announce that we will be pledging funds to a local agency that will assist with support when the time is right. This fund will be created by donating 50% of all June application fees. Every little bit helps, and we encourage others to donate what they can.
2. In addition, the CLLC group of schools will be organizing a fundraising event to raise money for local relief efforts. Details about this event will be shared soon.
3. For those who have been displaced by the fire, CLLC Halifax is offering a place to work this week. Please contact us to help arrange your work place and time.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by this tragedy. Let’s show our support for our fellow community members by coming together and offering what help we can.
